FDP on Data Science Applications Starts at RBU

CHANDIGARH: An international online faculty development program on the application of data science, artificial intelligence and machine learning in health sciences, social and business perspectives ”organized by the School University of Engineering and Technology (USET) started at Rayat Bahra University here today.

The main objective of this week-long faculty development program is to familiarize participants with recent technological advancements in the fields of Data Science (DS) and Machine Learning (ML) and their applications. The FDP is primarily intended for DS and ML applications. The PDF will be useful to faculties and researchers working in the fields of DS and ML.

Gurvinder Singh Bahra, Chancellor of Rayat Bahra University and patron of the organizing committee, speaking on the occasion, said that the main objective of this week-long faculty development program is to familiarize participants with recent technological advancements in the fields of Data Science (DS) and Machine Learning (ML) and their applications.

He said that the FDP will mainly deal with DS and ML applications and expressed his optimism that the FDP will be useful to faculties and researchers working in the areas of DS and ML.

Dr Parvinder Singh, vice-chancellor of Rayat Bahra University and sponsor of the organizing committee, said the faculty development program is designed to train and motivate faculty members from universities and schools of engineers around the world.

Sahila Bahra and Gurinder Singh Bahra, vice-presidents of Rayat Bahra University, and Prof. BS Satyal, registrar of Rayat Bahra University, who are co-sponsors of the organizing committee, were among those present at the opportunity.

Dr Anurag Dixit, Dean of the University School of Engineering and Technology (USET), Rayat Bahra University and Chairman of the Organizing Committee, said that the University School of Engineering and Technology (USET) has always been at the forefront of innovation and achieved a leading position in the field of technical and vocational education.
