New Delhi: Indian and Chinese companies are taking the lead in the use of artificial intelligence (AI) compared to their counterparts in major technically advanced countries, according to a survey report from IBM on Thursday. According to the survey, 35% of companies globally reported using AI in their business, and compared to 2021, organizations are 13% more likely to have adopted AI in 2022.

“Chinese and Indian companies are leading the way, with nearly 60% of IT professionals in these countries saying their organizations are already actively using AI, compared to lagging markets like South Korea (22 %), Australia (24%), the United States (25%) and the United Kingdom (26%)”, indicates IBM’s Global AI Adoption Index 2022.

He said IT professionals in financial services, media, energy, automotive, oil and aerospace industries are most likely to say their companies have actively deployed the IA, while organizations in industries such as retail, travel, government/federal services, and healthcare are the least likely.

The survey was conducted from March 30 to April 12, 2022 among a sample of 7,502 business decision makers with some influence over their company’s IT decisions, including 500 respondents in the US, UK, in France, Germany, Spain, Italy, China, India, Singapore, Australia, Canada, United Arab Emirates and South Korea, and 1,000 respondents throughout the Americas region Latin (Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Chile, Peru), according to the report.

“57% say their organizations have actively deployed AI in their business, and more than a quarter (27%) say their organizations are exploring the use of AI. Adoption is driven by advancements that make AI more accessible to enterprises (50%), and the increasing amount of artificial intelligence embedded in standard out-of-the-box business applications (46%),” the report said.

The survey revealed that more than 50% of India’s IT professionals in companies exploring or deploying AI say their organizations plan to invest in research and development (56%), creating solutions proprietary AI (54%) and workforce retraining and development (52%). next year.

“The biggest barrier to successful adoption of AI, according to IT professionals in India in organizations exploring or deploying AI, is limited AI skills, expertise or knowledge (38% ),” the report said.
