Indonesia urges artificial intelligence to boost education – OpenGov Asia
Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, Nadiem Makarim called for the simultaneous development of artificial intelligence and character intelligence on the part of its users and creators. The minister stressed that artificial intelligence has been in development for at least two decades and is now part of the daily life of the inhabitants of the country.
Administrative tasks, which are usually a burden on teachers during the accreditation application process, can now be made easier with technology. Education will also become more personal, as students will be able to develop according to their interests and skills. Makarim encouraged the students to develop not only their general intelligence, but also their character to face future challenges.
âThe development of science and the global situation will accelerate the application of AI in various fields and have a massive impact on the world of work in the future. It will be inevitable and we cannot stop it, âhe noted.
The minister was convinced that AI will help in the future to solve various problems, including those facing educational institutions such as universities. According to him, AI will help the university to accelerate the quality of its institution and education, which is in line with the goal of Freedom Study – Freedom Campus.
âThe ability to work in groups, a sense of global unity, creativity, independence and resilience are all important. These are the traits that we must imbue ourselves with in order to survive in a rapidly changing era, âhe stressed.
Makarim also expressed hope that Indonesian students will put the technology to good use so that they are ready to face the future with a host of new solutions that they can easily implement. With current technical progress, future problems will be difficult. The Minister believes that, in the spirit of Freedom Campus, students can be the solution for people in Indonesia and around the world.
Another Indonesian education technology start-up recently developed an AI-based system to improve students’ general knowledge in three core subjects: math, verbal logic, and English. The AI ââsystem has two main features, one of which is the ability to train with hundreds of thousands of questions from three main focus areas, such as verbal logic, math, and English, which can be adjusted to the level of understanding of each. Meanwhile, the other feature provides a variety of insightful knowledge such as philosophy, basic science, and history that can be used to support and expand users’ knowledge and perspectives.
In addition, the government has announced a national strategy for the development of artificial intelligence, but experts demand assurance that advancements in this high-tech field are both safe and useful for all.
At a time when governments and businesses around the world are rapidly turning to artificial intelligence (AI) for solutions in law enforcement, finance and healthcare, Jakarta unveiled a strategy that would guide Indonesia in the development of AI between 2020 and 2045.
Bambang Brodjonegoro, Minister of Research and Technology and head of the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), mentioned that the country’s AI projects will focus on education and research, health services, bureaucratic reform, food security, mobility and smart cities.
OpenGov Asia reported that artificial intelligence has gained popularity in today’s world. It refers to the simulation of natural intelligence in machines that have been programmed to learn and mimic human actions. These machines can learn and perform human tasks as they gain experience. As artificial intelligence technology advances, it will have a significant impact on our quality of life. It’s only natural that everyone today wants to connect with AI technology in one way or another, whether as an end user or pursuing a career in the industry. IA.
