mnnit: Mnnit will launch Mtechcourse in artificial intelligence and data science | Allahabad News

Prayagraj: Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT)-Allahabad has decided to launch an MTech course in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, keeping in mind the growing importance and popularity of these two streams in the industrial and academic fields.
For the benefit of students of the institute enrolled in undergraduate courses in computer-related fields and also those who wish to pursue a specialized field from the sole National Institute of Technology (NIT) in the state, the MNNIT would launch the new course entitled “MTech in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science”, starting from the next academic session — 2022-23 — itself.
“This new MTech course is being launched in place of the eight-year MTech course in software engineering which was discontinued due to lack of interest from students and industry representatives arriving on campus for internships. This new MTech course has been specially designed with the needs of the industry in mind. Admissions will be taken against 25 places based on the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE)-2022 score,” MNNIT Registrar Sarvesh Tiwari said.
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur had organized GATE-2022 on February 5, 6, 12 and 13. This new course was part of GATE-2022 whose results were announced on March 17.
“Now, based on the GATE Dashboard, MNNIT Artificial Intelligence and Data Science Admissions will take place at the institute in July-August 2022. The new MTech course will enable technical students to master the artificial intelligence and data analytics,” said Professor DS Kushwaha, Head of Computer Science Department, MNNIT.
The officials said artificial intelligence and data analytics is the power to analyze and learn large amounts of data from multiple sources and detect patterns to make predictions of future trends. “Businesses and industry benefit from predictive analytics to make decisions regarding production, marketing and development, among others,” they explained.
MNNIT officials further informed TOI that the world is now more data-driven than ever, and while specialist skills in analytics, numerical, data science and artificial intelligence are in high demand, the supply is still very high. limited. “This new program has been designed in response to the shortage of AI and data science/analytics specialists in India. This will give students the skills and professional insight they need to launch a career in these diverse and fast-growing sectors,” they added.
