Revolutionary AI blockchain art made on the International Space Station

Blockchain has taken art to the next level. Artist Cecilie Waagner Falkenstrøm and art-tech team ARTificial Mind created AI and blockchain art on the International Space Station (ISS). It is the first work of art to operate from space as it orbits Earth on NASA’s spacecraft.

“All data collected from the software will create a series of digital tokens and AI-generated spatial images from the spatial radiation that the AI algorithm collects on board the ISS,” Falkenstrøm told Forbes.

The artwork is a hybrid AI-Blockchain algorithm and uses cosmic ray data aboard the ISS to create digital tokens and space images, according to Celestium’s webpage.

The outer space artwork is interactive: there is a 1000×1000 pixel canvas you can contribute to that will be sent to space in March 2022. You will then receive a Celestium token and can exchange it for real asteroids as NFT.

“It allows everyone to own a small part of the universe in a digital world. I believe the artwork examines issues of democratization and decentralization of space and will spark a conversation about how human actions in space can transform the quality of life for all of humanity, instead to serve as wealth for the few,” Falkenstrøm said.

Space Tokens can be collected until February 15. You can read more about the project and see the artwork here.
