SDAIA compiles the largest glossary of data science and artificial intelligence terms
RIYADH – The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), in cooperation with the King Salman International Complex for Arabic Language, has launched the largest data and artificial intelligence dictionary, bringing together technical terms the most important ones related to data and artificial intelligence, with short and accessible definitions in Arabic and English.
This initiative is part of SDAIA’s efforts to enrich Arabic content, spread technical awareness, standardize scientific terminology and concepts, and facilitate access to the information needed by researchers, specialists, media professionals and others concerned with these areas, in a manner consistent with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
The glossary was prepared by the specialized national staff of the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), reviewed and approved by a committee formed in cooperation with the King Salman International Complex for the Arabic language. Its members also include experts and consultants in the technical and linguistic field, according to a methodology composed of four main stages: the collection of terms and their definitions from 20 reliable sources, the translation of terms and their definitions in a precise contextual and technical review. by experts and specialists in data and artificial intelligence, and finally linguistic revision by a team of linguists to ensure that the terms and definitions are correctly included.
The importance of launching this dictionary comes in light of the increased interest in data science and artificial intelligence, and the expansion of the development of relevant applications in various fields of health, education, security, commerce, industry and others, as many technical terms and concepts in these fields are not scientifically and precisely defined, especially in Arabic content, in addition to the lack of specialized Arabic sources.
This dictionary will contribute to enrich the Arabic content of data and artificial intelligence and to spread the culture of advanced technologies enabling digital transformation, which will be in continuous revision to keep pace with technical developments, to be a main permanent reference for specialists and interested persons. in these areas locally and globally.
