Vodafone Idea to deploy a blockchain-enabled business platform; partners Tanla, Telecom News, ET Telecom

NEW DELHI: Vodafone Idea announced on Tuesday that it has partnered with Communication Platform as a Service (CPaaS) provider Tanla to encrypt all international messaging traffic on the Vi network.

The partnership will be hosted on Tanla’s cloud-based “Wisely” platform, co-developed with Microsoft, and is expected to help the telecommunications company strengthen its position in the global enterprise market.

“Vi Business is focused on providing technology solutions to businesses enabling digital transformation, productivity and improved efficiency. We are the first to adopt Tanla’s Wisely platform, which brings essential functionality to our business customers, ”said Arvind Nevatia, Commercial Director of Vodafone Idea Limited.

The companies in an official statement said India’s international courier market is estimated at nearly Rs.3,500 crore per year.

This alliance should be put into service in “Q4 21-22”, he added.

He said the potential of BCT could be explored in the public digital platforms offered in various sectors such as agriculture, health, energy and others to meet heightened security requirements.

“I am confident that this partnership will help expand our global presence by meeting the needs of global businesses not only in India but around the world,” said Uday Reddy, Founding President and CEO of Tanla Platforms Limited.

Wisely provides a digital marketplace bringing together businesses and suppliers connected by secure express routes and Microsoft’s global network.

According to the Hyderabad-based company, the blockchain-based platform will ensure steadfast audit trials and no dispute resolution, as well as compliance with applicable regulations.

Companies are targeting tech giants as well as over-the-top (OTT) players, among others.

“They will benefit from flexible business models and will be able to develop tailor-made solutions to help them achieve their strategic priorities. In addition, Wisely will provide an enhanced experience to millions of mobile users in India through the rapid delivery of critical messages, also ensuring data security and privacy, ”the companies said in a joint statement.

Billionaire Mukesh Ambani backed the data privacy and cryptocurrency bills on Friday, saying India is putting in place the most forward-looking policies and regulations.
